Hormones & Receptors
<< Back

Hormones and receptors comprise of a highly sophisticated communication system that interconnects all the cells and tissues of the body. The types of fat in the cell membrane determines how well the cell communicates using it’s receptor systems. Hormone-receptor communication, as well as the transport of nutrients in and out of the cell are vital features to a healthy metabolism.

HORMONES
Hormones are informational chemicals that dock into the receptor which causes a physiological response within the cell.

RECEPTORS
Receptors are the antenna of the cell that allow them to feel for what’s going on in their immediate environment. As soon as a hormone latches onto a receptor, the receptor changes its shape and the message is transferred to the cell’s interior.
