In one month, we were able to determine Joe lost 9 pounds total, which was comprised of 8 pounds of fat and 1 pound of muscle. I had my yellow belt test in karate today. I was really nervous about it
because my instructor told me it was “2 hours of pure hell” and the fear of the unknown sucks. He told me not to eat beforehand (because you’ll want to puke). Before I started following John Erickson’s guidelines from the USA diet plans I read a lot of magazines and bodybuilding books to get all of my nutrition needs. In those magazines I followed a lot of garbage diets and did not know it. When following these “extreme diets” , very high protein diets and spending a little more then 350 dollars a month on so call miracle muscle building/fat loss performance supplements, I was doing more harm then good to my body. When I consulted john with my problem he started explaining the importance in variety , food timing , food macronutrient ratios and other important factors that bodybuilding and top magazines on the market failed to explain. Another thing that john and I went over was all of my supplements I was using ( I was a supplement junkie). My supplement spending’s went from 350 dollars a month to under 60 dollars a month and I achieved better results. John explained how I was over loading my body with these supplements and actually causing more stress on my body then helping me recover. After following johns nutrition guidelines I lost 35 pounds and actually gained muscle, endurance and strength and feel like a ball of energy.
