Fish
Oil dosage by John Erickson

My recommendions for fish oil come from
the field of 40/30/30 nutrition and are not my particular
view of things. The only real way to find out how much fish
oil you require you would have to take an expensive blood
test to find out your EPA/arachidonic acid ratio. Collectively
across the board I have heard holistic doctors recommend 2500
mg per day of EPA & DHA, however people with specific
conditions such as bipolar or depression are told to take
higher doses.
FISH OIL DOSAGE
The back of the label
will tell you how much EPA and DHA are in each capsule.
Add the two numbers up and divide that into 2500 (or 1500
for maintenance dose when using low grade oils). The answer
is how many pills you need per day.

DOSE FOR OPTIMAL HEALTH
2500 mgs total EPA + DHA per day of
high dose, pharmaceutical grade fish oil is recommended
for adults. This is equal to 4 pharmaceutical grade capsules
each day.
Fish Oil Dosage (liqud form)
1 tsp fish oil in liquid form
will give you the recommended 2500 mgs of long chain omega
fish oils per day.
