My
Favorite Cheat Meal & why By John
Erickson
<<
Back
My
scientific background and thinking considers regular ice
cream healthier than fat-free or reduced fat versions because
I would rather have the fat than the carbohydrate. The fat
storing response is much greater after eating high carbohydrate
frozen yogurts and sherberts when compared to high fat ice
cream. A cheat meal for me is usually pizza and I have ice
cream for dessert. I either choose Ben & Jerry's®
Pistachio-pistachio flavor or Häagen-Dazs® Butter
pecan.

Ingredients:
Cream, Skim Milk, Liquid Sugar, Water, Pistachios,
Egg Yolks, Natural Flavor, Coconut Oil, Guar Gum, Salt, Carrageenan.
Ben & Jerry's® Pistachio-pistachio has a short ingredient
list, pistachios consist of a healthy fat and they also use
coconut oil. Although coconut oil is a saturated fat I do
not see a problem with coconut oil because coconut oil is
low in omega-6 fat.
