Eating as a Ritual
Treating meal time as a ritual brings a certain level of respect to food. On the other hand, frequent overeating can be seen as disrespecting the power of food.

DON'T DO ANYTHING ELSE WHILE EATING
Don’t engage in any other activities while eating. This includes talking, reading, watching tv or listening to music. Focus on the taste of the food and nothing else.

EAT SLOWLY
Take a breath between bites. Don’t put more food in your mouth before you have swallowed the previous bite.

RELAX
Your stomach literally changes its shape depending on your mood. Relaxing will allow
your stomach to readily digest food.

ENGAGE IN A MEAL CLOSING ACTIVITY
Rinse your mouth with water or brush your teeth.
Relax or lay down for a little while
Meditate
Take a slow walk
Take a hot bath or shower
